Cricket size chart
Match the cricket to your animal. Every size we sell, with age, body length and the pets each size suits best.
| Size | Age | Length | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pinhead | 0–7 days after hatch | Under 1/8 in | Hatchling geckos, tiny frogs, spiderlings |
| Small | ~2 wk | ~1/4 in | Juvenile reptiles and frogs |
| Medium | ~3–4 wk | ~1/2 in | Most requested size: juvenile bearded dragons, leopard geckos |
| Large | ~5–6 wk | ~3/4 in | Adult leopard geckos, young chameleons |
| Adult | 6–7+ wk | ~3/4–1 in | Adult bearded dragons, monitors, tarantulas |
Sizes are body length, not counting antennae; ages from hatch (house crickets at 86–90°F). Rule of thumb: offer crickets no longer than the space between your animal's eyes.
The eye-gap rule: never feed a cricket longer than the space between your animal's eyes. Too-large feeders can cause choking and impaction.
